Are you looking to develop your expertise in sake?
3 1/2 day intensive sake qualification designed for both:
- Industry - Sommeliers, waitstaff, restaurateurs or F & B professionals in a position of buying, selling or training about Japanese sake or writing sake lists;
- General Public - Those keen to learn everything there is to enhance their Sake enjoyment.
The Level 3 Award in Sake is a WSET industry accreditation. You will learn how to taste and evaluate approximately 30 sake, understand how choices in the production process and ingredients influence style and quality, and be armed with the knowledge of how to make authoritative commentary and recommendations on sake.
Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.
There are no entry requirements for this course.
It is a small class setting capped at 10 people.

For the super-competitive among you the exams are marked on a Distinction, Merit, Pass, Fail basis and for the integrity of the course they are marked by WSET in London with about an 8-week turnaround for results.
Don't let the gravity of the exam situation turn you off, Pass, Fail or otherwise you will learn more about Sake in an informative and enjoyable forum than you could learn in a lifetime of drinking.

This class will be conducted by Certified Kikisakeshi - Sake sommelier (SSI Tokyo) and IWC sake judge Leigh Hudson.
Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) qualifications are globally recognised as the international industry standard in wine, sake and spirit education. Designed for those starting their careers, as well as established professionals, and the many enthusiasts who have a passion for sake, wine and spirits. In the last academic year over 72,000 candidates sat a WSET exam in 73 countries.
Students will be required to complete an online pre-study program approximately two weeks before the course.
You must be at least 18 years old. There are no other entry requirements for the course.
Assessment includes a blind evaluation of 2 sakes, multiple choice questions and a short answer written theory exam. On successful completion (minimum score of 55% required) students will be awarded the WSET Level 3 Award in Sake.
The exam date is Monday 25 May 2020.
Terms and Conditions
Cancellations are accepted outside the blockout period of 1 month prior to the start of the course. An administration fee of $75 will be deducted and the remainder of the course fee refunded to the payee minus the cost of any study materials provided.
No refunds will be issued during the 1 month prior of the course. A refund will apply if Chef's Armoury cancels the course (minus the cost of any study materials provided). There is a re-sit exam fee of $180 for theory and $180 for tasting if you do not attend the exam at the scheduled time.
Transfers to another course or applicant can be made outside the blockout period: 31+ days before the course start date on payment of a $75 admin fee + cost of any additional study materials. Transfers cannot be carried forward to the next financial year.
