3 1/2 day intensive sake qualification designed for both:

  • Industry - Sommeliers, waitstaff, restaurateurs or F & B professionals in a position of buying, selling or training about Japanese sake or writing sake lists;
  • General Public - Those keen to learn everything there is to enhance their Sake enjoyment.

The Level 3 Award in Sake is a WSET industry accreditation. You will learn how to taste and evaluate approximately 30 sake, understand how choices in the production process and ingredients influence style and quality, and be armed with the knowledge of how to make authoritative recommendations on sake.

Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

Your Instructor

This class will be conducted by Certified Kikisakeshi - Sake sommelier (SSI Tokyo) and IWC sake judge Leigh Hudson.

Online Study

Students will be required to complete an online pre-study program approximately two weeks before the course.

Entry Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old. There are no other entry requirements for the course.

EXAM

Assessment includes a blind evaluation of 2 sakes, multiple choice questions and a short answer written theory exam. On successful completion (minimum score of 55% required) students will be awarded the WSET Level 3 Award in Sake.

The exam date is Tuesday 2 March 2020.

Terms and Conditions

Cancellations are accepted outside the blockout period of 1 month prior to the start of the course. An administration fee of $75 will be deducted and the remainder of the course fee refunded to the payee minus the cost of any study materials provided.

No refunds will be issued during the 1 month prior of the course. A 100% refund will apply if Chef's Armoury cancels the course. There is a re-sit exam fee of $180 for theory and $180 for tasting if you do not attend the exam at the scheduled time.

Transfers to another course or applicant can be made outside the blockout period: 31+ days before the course start date on payment of a $75 admin fee + cost of any additional study materials. Transfers cannot be carried forward to the next financial year.
